In accordance with UK data protection laws and professional guidance, The Hampstead Podiatrist retains patient records for a defined period to ensure safe and effective care. Adult medical records are retained for eight years after the conclusion of treatment. For children, records are kept until their 25th birthday (or 26th if they were 17 at the end of treatment). Records relating to deceased patients are retained for ten years from the date of death. Financial records are held for at least six years to comply with HMRC requirements. Records relating to consent, clinical photographs, or complaints may be retained for up to ten years. After the relevant retention period, all data is securely destroyed in accordance with industry standards.
